The "MSM" actually did what they complained they didn't?
The purpose of a Gish Gallop is to make others waste their time refuting it. There isn't enough time to refute every lie and distortion. The Iran Nuclear Deal was complicated. Trump is too dumb to understand its benefits also come with costs, which all parties to it weighed as worth it.
Trump is smart enough to turn it into a binary opposition ("worst deal ever", "the black guy's fault" ) which even his slack-jawed voters can understand.

(9,350 posts)From what I can tell neither CBS nor ABC told their viewers that President Obama had only given Iran money that belonged to Iran. I was flipping between the channels to see if anyone on either channel would address the issue. I did not see anyone on either channel address the issue.

a very detailed point of it today. I'm beginning to think some of the network news and MSNBC aren't going to give Trump a pass anymore. I could be wrong, but they have been more critical and pointing out his lies.

In exchange for no net gain in released U.S. citizens, President Reagan authorized the delivery to Iranfrom U.S.-supplied Israeli stockpilesthe following advanced weapons:
Aug. 20, 1985: 96 TOW missiles

President Trumps address to the nation after Irans missile attacks on bases in Iraq where U.S. troops are stationed contained a number of factually dubious statements. Heres a quick round-up.
Not a comprehensive analysis, but in an abbreviated review, Kessler and Rizzo found two Bottomless Pinocchio claims by Trump, as well as plenty of other lies.
I hate Trump's gish-gallop of lies as much as anyone, but I can't quite figure out how the media can cover him live and fact-check him in real time. The best I can think of is that they should refuse to carry Trump live, tape his remarks, then check the facts as the tape unrolls.
