Ken Jennings was asked to run for Senate

Politico

Jeopardy wunderkind Ken Jennings reveals that in 2004 he was approached by both Sen. Chuck Schumer and Sen. Harry Reid about running against Sen. Orrin Hatch in Utah.

"I am not making this up. Win on a game show and you can apparently run for the US Senate. That was when I realized the Democratic Party was f@#$ed in '04," Jennings said during an online question and answer session.

The gameshow whiz's answers on Reddit showcases a wry sense of humor -- and his ability to land a punchline.

We lost net two seats and Democratic Leader Tom Daschle lost his re-election race. Sounds pretty accurate.
