Russia didn't attack our embassy and didn't fire rockets at bases injuring US troops.
The US and Russia were adversaries for a long time but never did it enter direct conflict. It was all done through proxies.
I think Trump taking the offramp was the exact right response to Iran's actions last night. Whoever in his administration that talked him into standing down deserves a medal.

There weren't a whole lot of Soviet Generals well known for sponsoring terrorism...killing their own people as well as ours.
