And apparently Israeli journalists have been reporting 100 American's killed.
The Guardian says both claims are false news.
I have not seen an official report from the US military about how many killed and injured. Have you?

(7,390 posts)I know we can't trust our own government to tell us the truth. I guess over time the families in the military will let us know.

(14,961 posts)he thinks they would inform the families first. The disinformation campaign is succeeding. I don't believe a thing this government says, they want us confused.

(7,390 posts)I hope they put a gag-order on the military to keep quiet about the truth.
Can we get our own journalists on-site, please?

I is odd though and I want our own journalist there to get the truth.

Think about it or a minute. The Iranian state media is claiming 80 were killed and 200 injured and that the dead were removed from the base by helicopters immediately after. Now, consider that the missile strikes occurred, I believe, at around 3 AM Iran time and that the Iran State media reports were issued only a few hours later. How would they have specific information that quickly? If there were casualties of the level they claim, it would take a while for the situation to stabilize to the point where the extent of casualties was even known. And there were reporters from Western countries in Iran -- and yet no one reported seeing or hearing helicopters flying out of the bases that were struck.
Finally, and most importantly, there is no way the US could cover up 280 casualties -- families would learn and there would be some, indeed many, who would scream bloody murder that their loved ones sacrifice was being covered up. Real life isn't TV. And no government, not even Trump's government, would risk being caught in that kind of lie -- the RW would be calling for his head for not retaliating if there was that level of injury suffered by American soldiers.
It is embarrassing that anyone on this site subscribes to tin foil conspiracy theories based on lies spread by the Iranians.
