Wow, Florida Republican Francis Rooney appears on MSNBC and tells the truth about Iran situation.

No bullshitting, no posturing. He plainly said Dump Admin's actions have destabilized our relationships with Iran, NATO and others over the past few years, and the attack on Iran reversed progress we were making. He further went on to say the Iran purposely has tried to de-escalate, and the Iran nuclear treaty could have been better, but it was actually working. He thought it would take some fence-mending with allies to try and restart talks with Iran on getting back to the bargaining table.

I am stunned, but it is nice to hear the truth from a Republican for a change. I'm hoping a few others are finally waking up/speaking up about the dangers Dump and his administration are presenting to the U.S. and the rest of the world.

I guess it was extremely hard for Rooney to sorta give a little positive to Pres O and his administration.

disarm you. R's fear that Trump's hold on the people is slipping and they are distancing themselves from his most extreme and dangerous words and actions.

R's are trying to remake their image. It is a worthless move, IMO, because they still intend to acquit him in the Senate and to back Mosvow Mitch on procedure for the trial.

They have backed Trump in order to hold power and to get their agenda fulfilled. No matter what they say now against Trump, they are empty words. They endorse refusal to accept asylum seekers and endorse privatization of schools, prisons, the military, and other social institutions that should have public oversight. They endorse corporate welfare while reducing the safety net for the working poor. They are at best indifferent to the racism stirred up by Trump and many of them support it. They reject alternative energy forms and reject reduction of gas and oil use. They oppose protection of the environment. They oppose financial regulations that are intended to prevent market crashes and deep recessions.

They will continue to promote their agenda with or without Trump. He is only the face and voice that shows their ugliness. It will still be there behind their masks
when he is gone.

I am not in the least moved or impressed by their worthless, empty, self-serving criticisms of Trump. They have shown what they are. They ARE Trump, dressed up in less obviously offensive imagery, but reeking of the garbage they are underneath.

I can't think of any other reason he might speak the truth. The only reason the Republicans do ANYTHING is to benefit themselves. So he must think he has to say that to get re-elected and keep his sweet job in Congress.

Red as they come, but even he once said he would have to look his grandchildren in the eye and make an accounting of the "what did you do grandpa?" inquiry. He's seen the red tides and blue green algae in his district do huge damage to the environment and financially to businesses and homeowners and realized one can only be dickish so long. I live on the edge of his CD and it ain't going blue anytime soon but as a one and done Congressman even he had enough.

I would call this making public the truth known to many perhaps even most of them all along. They are under some kind of spell, threat, control, contract, money flow or something.
