Help me figure this out.

I live in a blue state, a blue town(20,000 residents). We have active local Facebook pages, some general, some for 'sale' pages.

Things are heating up on the general pages..you guessed it, all political. I am astounded by some of the posts and replies. There are many posts in support of the idiot we call pResident. There are a ton on posts in support of him.

What is happening to our Democrats, our left leaning residents? There are hardly any replies to these awful posts and if someone has the courage to make a reply comment, this person is shredded with negative(and nasty) replies.

I can't figure out why this is happening. Why are the Dem's keeping quiet here? Is this common anywhere else?

No thanks. I won't battle with anyone that refuses to do a simple fact check, who gets all their info from memes, who is intentionally obtuse, etc.

The screamers and chest pounders thrive off of anger and spit.

You won't change a mind in that type of atmosphere. One-on-one or face-to-face, maybe you can have a civil discussion.

3. You can't sway these people with any amount

of facts or evidence, so it’s pointless to engage. Frankly their rage and hatred scares me, I refuse to be a target, and I refuse to waste my time and energy trying to move the immovable. That’s why THIS dem has gone quiet. Just because I’m no longer shouting, doesn’t mean I’m not concerned, engaged and committed. I just can’t argue with the idiots anymore, I’ll go mad.
