launch their missles. If so why didn't we take them out? They ended up causing little damage and no American casulties. Did we let them launch them knowing we have the technology to steer them off target or did Iran purposely miss their target? Just seems odd to me.

(42,714 posts)I ask because there have been a lot of "reports" referenced here the last 24 hours that turned out to be incorrect. This one might be correct, but knowing the source would be helpful.

doc03
(35,346 posts)so accurate why aren't they. Are we being lied to about their capabilities? Did they in tensionaly miss? Or do we have the technology to redirect them? Or are they like the Scuds Iraq had.

(42,714 posts)are that the US had advance knowledge that Iran intended to strike at US targets in Iraq but did not know which targets or when until they were launched and identified by early warning systems.

(10,039 posts)The odds against such a thing accidentally happening are long.
ON EDIT: Also, the damage appears light for the full 1,700lb and 1,100lb warheads the Iranian missiles are spec'd for. That could just be the scale of the image though.

(31,261 posts)Iran struck two sites in different parts of Iraq, warned the Iraqis where not to be and damaged nothing else, that looks like precision targeting to me.

* America, you're standing on our turf and in our home, and you're a long way from yours.
* America, you helped us with ISIS and built dozens of bases and camps along the way. Like old fish, we would rather you go home and allow us to start rebuilding on our own.
* America, you've never bothered to understand our culture, our norms, our society, our religions, our history or our needs for help. Your President W was the best living proof and now you hit us with this crazy new guy.
* America, our oil and other resources are ours and ours alone............fuhgeddaboudit.
* America, we'll be friends with who we damn well please. Get over it.
