This is what I still don't get from the conspiracy theories.
He was a blackmailer. We kind of all agree about that, right?
As such his blackmail evidence still exists whatever happens to him. That's kind of the whole point.
Who do people think Epstien's death benefited? Because if there was evidence against them, it's still in existence. What is the actual theory here?

(5,066 posts)conspiracy theory, but wasn't it the FBI (as part of the DOJ) that raided those places? If the DOJ had access...
Perhaps I should just stop and pour myself a drink.

(53,794 posts)killed someone in jail, thinking they can't find out who you are and won't hire a hitman to kill you? Good luck.
How would you even get the money? Forget wires or ETFs as they've got shady banking connections all over the world to track down who owns what account number.
Maybe bitcoins? That's a good way to get scammed out of money before the hitman even gets to you.
That always leaves the briefcase switch in an airport or the paper bag drop on city park bench---nah, too much of a b-movie cliche.

(50,956 posts)evidence on. If he had any brains, he did not keep all his evidence in one place.
And what makes you think he was never going to testify? Or, if not testify, at least threaten to testify. The guy was a mess. If he thought someone could make things better for himself, he would have done whatever it took.

(21,675 posts)Barr was very much involved in this shit.
Squinch
(50,956 posts)Barr's father hired Epstein to teach at the Dalton School in NYC when Epstein was 21. That's an elite prep school where the rest of the faculty has advanced degrees. Epstein did not have a college degree or any teaching experience or qualifications when Barr's father hired him. To teach kids.
Not sure how that ties in, but I bet it does somehow.

(86,650 posts)he started his slavery business? And Barr's dad was already a f'ing creep so I suspect they started the empire of slavery together and I suspect that Wm was involved all along too. Then there are all those clients... after how many decades?
Squinch
(50,956 posts)something on Headmaster Barr to convince him to hire Epstein when Epstein had no qualifications whatsoever. In a school where there was a lot of competition for teaching jobs, and a lot of scrutiny on the teachers by influential parents.

My guess is that he was a world class deviant, and he shared or rather procured young girls to be sexually exploited by dozens of men, if not more. Most of them would have their lives ruined (as it should be) if it ever came out that they were "clients" of his.
He had a remote ranch out west he used for this purpose.
The dude was a pimp and his clientele had/have a shit ton of money and influence.
The fact that he never made it to trial alive is absolutely no surprise.
Edit to give credit to those commenters above who posted while I was typing.
The idea that he was seriously into sexual slavery is very likely spot on.
Edited to lose the word "pedophile" from the first sentence. It is not accurate.

(20,204 posts)A pedophile prefers pre-adolescent children, ages 10 and under. A hebephile prefers children in early adolescence, ages 11- 14. His preference was for girls in late adolescence, ages 15 -19. He sought out girls who were poor and vulnerable, generally from single parent homes.

(24,371 posts)I had not heard that term before. "Ephebophile" certainly applies. I was considering the term "Pederast" but that applies to homosexual relations between adult men and boys. Epstein does not appear to have been attracted to young boys, but if it came out that he had procured them also, I would not be surprised.
I grew up and "came of age" in South Florida in the late 70's through the 80's.
I'm not about to divulge any of what I know of that culture, except to say that Epstein's ability to live in Palm Beach and carry on as he did, for as long as he did comes as absolutely NO SURPRISE AT ALL to me.
