Does The World Want Huge Corporations To Run Their Governments Like They Do Ours?

I was watching Fareed for insight, like I usually do, and noticed something.

No one ever mentions how much billionaires, and huge corporations play into the death, and power struggles across the planet. Fareed mentioned our sanctions restrict food and medicine from Iran, which I assumed. This would in my opinion cause death and suffering. Then I thought of something.

If Iran's government is overthrown, will their country be ran by corporations and billionaires like ours?

I thinks maybe some folks could be talking about this.

What wold replace their crappy crazy murderous theocracy. Something better?

It is complicated, all the militias, and religious groups with weapons, but do they want a corporation choosing their leaders? Maybe Zuckerberg, or worse?

Those are not uncommon concerns for people who look into the workings of what was called the Military-Industrial-Complex.

Currently, we are seeing a definite facility for more control in the hands of the major techno-giants and that is yet another factor that does not play well for a democracy and has a potential for creating a dystopia for many of us with surveillance capitalism, information dominance, monopolies, etc.

The old terms that apply and the big three for me are: oligarchy, theocracy and fascism which has the factor of control of government by big business, (aka, major corporations) as a key facet. And now, you could add technocracy since it is new and building wave of control and influence that is forming and growing in the substratum of society and algorithms are deciding more and more who gets what and how things go. At some point resources may be fully controlled and distributed in that fashion and who creates and executes the algorithms will be the important factor for our future.

Those factors, in my opinion, are all potential enemies to the frailness of democracy and its growth and progress and that means freedom, the common will and the common good as well as our commons, i.e., shared social spaces/places/works. The dominance of any of them overall is a contradiction to democracy and its nemesis.

In that case, we know what we are up against and its like beholding more than one Goliath in our midst.

If you know the answer, you understand my point.

You can be successful in politics if you (1) raise an army of donors by doing the right thing over and over, or (2) be sure to say off the toes of the corporate profit streams and get paid LEGALLY by the owner class.

Our problems run deep.
