8. IIRC natural gas is what Europe needs from Russia and

Russia is a practical distance away. A gas pipeline can deliver it.
Europeans probably have a different mindset about Russia compared to us.

3. Do we import Russian oil or crude? If we do, how can anyone tell if the gas they're buying came

from Russia? I honestly don't know, of the % of crude we import, where it where it comes from.

Crude flows to nearest demand. Why import Russian crude with high transport cost when Mexican crude is close to refineries in US?
