It was a thing of beauty.
He said Rachel was extremely prepared. Of course she was. That's like saying Obama is articulate. Of course he is.

(19,962 posts)the major ratings getter for MSNBC, but don't maximize her. They don't even repeat her show during the night, ffs Brian Williams is repeated twice !

(19,962 posts)because she used to be on at 4am ET, but replaced her show with Williams, and Williams is already on at 2am ET.

(6,399 posts)Regardless, she IS on the schedule twice:

(6,399 posts)All you had to say was that it sucks that because you're on the west coast that Rachel doesn't get a second showing.
Whereas the rest of the country does get the second showing.
It's that simple.

(15,124 posts)And I often watch Rachel at 9 pm. This other person is not accurate in what they said to you.

(6,399 posts)I know the west coast gets screwed sometimes by a very east coast oriented news media in the country so it wouldn't surprise me if late night schedules were not the same. I only have the MSNBC schedule on their site to go by otherwise.

(22,037 posts)The hosts will sometime banter during the transition from one show to the next.
Generally, you're right, though and you don't see many references to their colleagues.
Blue_Adept
(6,399 posts)They've had a few reporters today in the field referencing the maddow interview with her named directly, but once the day got further on it was just referencing the parnas interview.
It's both good and bad because it keeps the network from being identified by one personality but at the same time it lacks promotion within for other segments/hosts.

(7,541 posts)There's two people I would walk a block out of my way to avoid hearing. MSNBC's a lot like the New York Times...one part will tell you the truth and the other part tell you day is night and night is day.
wryter2000
(46,051 posts)That not everyone agrees that day is day. And he'll smirk while doing it.

(6,280 posts).... view Joe Scarborough's praise of a fellow MSNBC host as an extreme rarity, I assume there must be numerous examples of Rachel Maddow and other MSNBC hosts praising one another on their show.
I am not talking about the banter some hosts trade because they happen to be in the same tudio. I am talking about examples matching the praise of Rachel Maddow by Joe Scarborough on his show.
"He said Rachel was extremely prepared. Of course she was."
Exactly what does anyone think Joe Scarborough should have said about Rachel?
Blue_Adept
(6,399 posts)Willie said she was extremely prepared for it and he then said exactly the same.
quickesst
(6,280 posts)He also described The Rachel Maddow interview as "extraordinary". Do you think there was some underlying, devious motive in his description?
When was the last time you exposed trump's corruption to millions of Americans? When was the last time you gave democratic politicians such as Chuck Schumer, Claire Mccaskill, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, and many others a platform to reach those millions of people?

Let's do tit for tat...
I don't think I've ever heard Rachel praise Joe or Mika. Folks, they're competitive people! It's not in their nature. Most of us don't care for Joe...but we've been watching because he's a never Trumper. No other reason.
All that aside....put your ear to the ground. Hear that cracking? I'm thinking we might be on the path to the place where a group of GOP gray hairs go to the Orange One and tell him to resign for the good of the party.
Wouldn't that be delightful? Just like when I celebrated John Mitchell going to prison. Lordy, there were tapes.
Not quite there yet, but I just don't see McConnell as mother hen protecting Donnie if it means losses in Nov. Just don't see it.

(21,360 posts)I'm delighted she got a promotion. She is no nonsense, her show isn't about herself, she has great guests and is not afraid to dress down a guest when he or she goes off the rails.
Nicolle and Rachel are stars and I like Chris Hayes, that's about all I watch, I don't want to upset myself watching the others.
JaneQPublic
(7,113 posts)in 2008, during the old MSNBC show "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" hosted by David Gregory, Scarborough gave Maddow a dressing down, essentially for disagreeing with him and hurting his male pride. Scar stomped off the set before the segment was done.
He hasn't had much good to say about her in ages. Actually, he seldom mentioned her!

Meeka and Shmoe helped get tRump elected in a small, tiny way...
Hearing Shmoe say her name over and over and reminded me of the famous Ali fight with Ernie Terrell where every time Ali connected with a punishing punch, he yelled "WHATS MY NAME to his opponent, who had refused to call him Ali and continued to call him Cassius Clay.
Last night Rachel was Ali and today Joe was Ernie Terrell...
I loved every second of it...
