I honestly don't understand why anyone gives a shit how another person wears their hair. Maybe they're just jealous?

But I have that white privilege. Pretty much the only thing anyone has ever said about my hair is to compliment the color or ask if I get the red tint from my mom or my dad. Well, they used to anyway. Now that it's salt and paprika, I think I'm invisible.

I've always admired black women's hair and never knew it could be a political statement when I was younger. It's always just been super cool to me.

Sorry about the caps but you are so right. We've got a circus clown with a ridiculous hairdo playing president of the US. Good gawd. What is wrong with people?

she said on the day of the impeachment vote...she was coming to terms with losing her hair, her mother, her mentor...Elijah Cummings...and Democracy. It did not seem like her talking about her hair loss had anything to do with the Republicans. More about herself, her identity, her power, her authenticity. Very good read.

Class act!

I have a daughter turning 15 years old in February who has alopecia that is right now controlled with prescription cream. Several years ago while she was in cheerleading she had a friend who had alopecia and went completely bald (cream did not work). The group voted to all wear hats when performing.

Eventually her friend went the ultimate route and went through series of shots to the scalp. Today, she has a full head of hair.

It's a shame we live in such a shallow, infotainment environment today.
