Today and this weekend are going to be BIG weather days

for the northern 2/3 of the United States. It has just started snowing here in St. Paul, MN, and we're expecting up to 10" overnight. The storm is moving in a broad, broad band from west to east, and is going to dump rain, sleet, ice, and snow wherever it goes.

No mistake, it's going to be a big bunch of hassle for a lot of people, guaranteed. It's moving fast so watch your local weather and plan accordingly.

It's electric. We still have shovels if there is a power outage.

So, I do the whole thing 24' X 60'. Takes a little more than an hour to do the driveway and three houses worth of city sidewalks. I'll be heading out in about half an hour to do just that.

Shoveling many inches of snow is no job for anyone over 60 years of age. Speaking from experience!

I have to shovel the porches and walks in the yard. Everything else gets blown. I take my time, and stop to rest, if needed. I shovel smart, not hard, as well.

it's ok.

This is what is SUPPOSED to happen in winter.

Before Climate Change.... it would have happened several times already the past few months.

I miss the old nor’easters that would drop 1-2 feet of snow. This year it’s 1-2 inches and then rain.

my wife and I plan on not leaving the house, except to run the snow blower, until Monday or Tuesday. We're in Wisconsin.

Looked over it on the NWS site radar and predictions. We're just on the safe edge here in North central KY. Indy will get a fair amount of snow, as will Chicago and going west, Sioux Falls will get 7 inches.

Next to your dilemma, a wide swath will get serious ice from St. Louis on up into central Illinois where Springfield's going to be a mess.

Hunker down and watch out for those 'ole bones on the slick spots!........

chilled by that weird dip in the Jet Stream. It must be shifting in our direction 'cause we'll be seeing a dip into the teens late Sunday which is far more seasonal for us.

During the last week or so, it was so warm I was afraid we were going to be mowing grass soon.....
