The United States of America is at a crossroads.

History has put us at this moment.

A President has been impeached.

Now, the Senate must look at the evidence and the facts.

The distrust of this president was very deep, even before he was inaugurated.

When General Flynn, the National Security Advisor, was caught making contacts with the Russians, even though they were under sanctions. Something looked very bad. It made us fear for the security of our country.

I think that is probably where the odyssey began? At least, for some people?

It was obvious from the beginning that we had a scofflaw on our hands. He did not have much respect for the law or those in authority.

Robert Mueller investigated for more than two years. He was obstructed every step of the way. We are all familiar with the charges.

But, Mueller did not submit enough evidence for the Democrats to begin an impeachment inquiry. Mueller came before the Congress to explain his investigation and the evidence. There were many obstruction of justice charges against the Trump regime.

The very next day, Trump was on the phone with the new president of Ukraine. And that is where he exceeded his authority and used his power to "negotiate" an agreement with Ukraine, in which they would need to say they are investigating Joe Biden, if they wanted the military aid and other favors? That is where it turned into a crime.

A whistleblower came forth. Seventeen witnesses came forth voluntarily, against the wishes of the White House, and testified to Congressional Committees. The evidence continued to mount. Then, on December 18, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that Donald John Trump would be impeached.

It was a partisan vote. Both sides absolute in their beliefs. Now we are here.

The Articles of Impeachment have been laid at the feet of Mitch McConnell and the Republicans. The question at the moment seems to be: "Are they even taking it seriously"?

Each side will need to make their best argument. I believe that America is at a crossroads.

Meanwhile, the white nationalists gather in Richmond, with a group who call themselves the "Base". The FBI has publicly stated their concerns about the gathering.

The White House attorneys, Sukalow and Cipollone, categorically deny that Donald Trump is guilty of any of the charges. They say he was defending our national security and was performing his Constitutional duties.

There is little doubt but that the corruption is very deep with this Administration. Foreign entanglements has become George Washington's nightmare. There is a criminal element involved.

America will judge with their hearts, not with any specific logic. This seems to be, in my opinion, where we are today.
