The ones that are up for election in 2022.I'm not counting any chickens yet, but by Feb. 2021 there'll probably be a Democrat in the White House, and almost certainly a Democratic House. No more William "Bullfrog" Barr to run interference for a crooked President. The Democratic President will (if nothing else, responding to demands from the House) appoint a special prosecutor to look into Trump-era corruption. And it will ALL COME OUT. I don't care if Mulvaney, Barr, and Pompeo run the goddamn paper shredders all night long, and throw their backs out, like Dick Cheney did in 2009. (Remember Cheney showing up for Obama's inauguration in a wheelchair, after throwing his back out from disposing of documents the night before? Better get at least three wheelchairs ready for 2021.) ALL of the federal employees that their boss has been vilifying for the last three years have kept the receipts!
And all of those bastards who voted to exonerate this crooked madman will have to defend their votes to keep his crooked documents from seeing the light of day.
So, who's up for re-election in 2022? Anyone have a list? Because, those are the Senators we should be watching.

(51,608 posts)I leave phone messages and pretend I am a constituent (I get addresses for homes in their state from Zillow...it takes 30 seconds to do it). I told them that I will not vote for them again and I am not alone "according to my coworkers and others I talked to at the store on my way home from work". I lie for a good cause...our country's future. I told them that I am a teacher and they should be ashamed for not being fair and respectful of our county's laws and they look guilty and unAmerican by doing this. I even threw in a "shame on you". I did that with 20 GOP senators today and will finish the list tomorrow.

(15,115 posts)Thanks for posting.
My guess on Grassley (especially if Ernst loses this year) is that he will retire. He is about 372 years old at this point, and let's just say kindly, that he's lost a step or two. He's a couple of pickles short of a Big Mac now.
Would love to take down a ton of these guys!

(9,267 posts)Gov Wolf (D) and Sen. Casey (D) both won re-election by a landslide in 2018. We have 2 years to send the message about Toomeys compete allegiance to the AH in the WH.

(24,764 posts)He'll expose Toomey as the RW extremist he really is. Toomey says moderate-sounding things during campaigns, but does the far right bidding of oligarchs behind our backs. In fact, he hides from the people of Pennsylvania, unless they're hardcore repukes.

(9,267 posts)I think Tom Wolf would be a great running mate as well.

(15,286 posts)Gov Wolf will be 70 in 2022. He's basically said he'll retire from political office when his current term expires.

(10,030 posts)The Republicans are being incredibly foolish to continue believing Trump has any chance of being re-elected.
The lack of a long view on the part of the GOP is stunning.

(13,776 posts)His book is a great game plan for the general election and wed win if we follow it... if it werent for Russian hackers AND the do-nothing-by-design attitude of McConnell.
But I would welcome any words of reassurance. I know that we had a big year in 2018 (THANK EVERYTHING), but Trump wasnt on the ballot, and he is desperate, and the Russians want to keep him exactly where he is.
Thats honestly the only thing worrying me about his re-election. If we had paper ballots I would have 100% of your certainty.

(10,030 posts)I believe that too. And it worries me too.

(46,166 posts)He's one of my senators. His staff knows that he's probably going to lose his seat. I'll be gloating at how he's doing this to himself because he's a coward.
