The Senate is redundant, useless and favors states with low populations.

I think it’s time we start considering a unicameral legislature, based on population. It works just fine in Nebraska.

All I see is obstruction from the Senate anymore, regardless of who controls it.

Flame away.

CONGRESS represents the population
SENATE represents the state governments.

Senators were not always elected by the populace but it moved that way over time. Still, their purpose is to represent the interests of the State as a whole, not their local community.

The problem isn't the Senate or it's structure. The problem is party over country and Mitch in particular.

The Canadian system represents its people better and we would not have to pay for red states anymore.

New England, New York, Michigan and Minnesota would be better served as Canadian provinces and the unfair transfer of wealth to states like Alabama would be ended.

I prefer the idea of kicking the stuffing out of republicans in November, and re-taking the Senate. As an institution, it can work just fine.

Those states with low population have the same vote as states with high population in approving constitutional amendments. It ain't gonna happen.

There were 58 Democrats, 40 Republicans and 2 Independents who caucused with the Democrats.
There is no way a constitutional amendment would be ratified to do away with the Senate.

I say pull that funding from all of them and make them raise their taxes to pay for their own services.
