One thing concerns me.

I am a political junkie, a history junkie, I devoured the Nixon hearings and the Clinton hearings. I took the week off with the intention of watching all of the hearings this week. After a few minutes I realized I could not handle this huge charade. This is not historical it is hysterical. It is not must see tv, it is reality tv.

What bothers me is if I am not able to watch how many others are like me? Especially the people who SHOULD be watching this deadly serious proceeding. Trumpers are not smart enough to follow a legal proceeding like this, they get the Cliff Notes version from Fox noise.

I fear these criminals will get off with no penalty what so ever. The only thing we can hope is the country is so sick of this crap that they will vote for any Democrat to keep from having to deal with this ever again.

I am weary, I am tired and I am sick (not necessarily in that order). There is so much bad information out there on the web it is impossible to track. For most Americans it is impossible to take the time and dig through the muck, and it isn't just Fox, you have Brietbart, Infowars and the dark web, all of which have things that are shared on people's facebook and twitter pages daily with no recourse.

I fear the republic is done.

I felt the same way in the 60's and 70's, yet, we stand and fight. "Darkest before the dawn" and all that, cheer up, stand up and never surrender. imo

More than one thing to bother anyone ,the entire thing is a joke from top to bottom and side to side.. I agree I cannot watch any of it it is all sanctimonious BS and no truths will win.. Like you I can only hope that he and his entire entourage are dethroned this fall...That will be only the first step in healing, then they need to fix it somehow to be sure this can never happen again.

Even if by some miracle we get enough Republicans to vote for witnesses and documents, there's almost no chance that we will get enough to vote for removal. And even if we got that, we'd have Pence. And even if we got rid of him too, we'd still have the stacked courts.

And even if we somehow magically undid all of that TOO, we still have 60 million voting Americans who are legitimately too goddamn stupid to not elect someone who literally telegraphed in a live presidential debate that he had strong dictatorial leanings, because hey, at least he wasn't "PC" by being considerate of brown people!

A couple hundred corrupt politicians we might have a chance of surviving.
Sixty million completely brain-dead and/or hardcore cultish voters, not so much.

As long as the likes of Faux News and their co-conspirators on rw talk radio are allowed to blatantly lie, creating and reinforcing their false reality where up is down, there really is no hope.

... who are in swing areas.

Right now Pelosi needs to pull the nuclear switch and claim she's not going to certify Red Don's Russian helped victory without witness's being presented.

I tell you what: listening to the House Managers - Jeffries, Schiff, etc. - at least IF this republic falls, we know we will have folks like this working for us, on our side. This includes Pelosi, Rachel Maddow, Laurence Tribe, and all Dems running for Prez in Congress, in state houses across the country.

This is an epic time. One can look to history going back millenia, for comparison. drumpf and his admin are evil personified. I believe they would stop at nothing to "win," including murder. Maybe on a grand scale. There is nothing new here in its blatantcy. They are sadistic sociopaths. I think Stephen Miller is behind a lot of this.

This is a time that calls us to recommit to our democratic republic. I admit I am not 100% certain of the outcome. I work in the legal system, and I experience drumfp's deception and immorality permeating it.

I am trying to keep my shit together; keep my family and household and commitments intact, while knowing there is this horror out there out of my control. Honor the rule of law, ethics, right living. It's a daily struggle.

We are in the fight of our lives, no doubt. Let these brave and brilliant Dem and progressive leaders inspire you!

Something like "... These people are making people start a 3rd party because nobody can agree on anything and they can't do anything." To which I immediately responded "that's because one side is blocking everything."

The folks talking clearly didn't get my comment and wanted to continue the both sides are equally to blame narrative. Having had enough - I walked away without comment, biting my tongue. I just didn't want to get into it right then but it worried me because these kind of comments mean that Average Americans are not understanding what is happening and why.
