I missed it myself, and when I heard a bunch of people on MSNBC commenting on how great it was, I hunted it down. He DID do a very good job.

(34,112 posts)I have missed a lot this week sadly. This was outstanding. He is right, of course, but the way he put it all to them was masterful. We may not prevail here but our reps have done us proud. Adam Schiff is one of the best!
Thank you California! From this Kansas woman who has never had a Democrat as her Senator and only a few Democrats as her Representative I am so grateful for the wonderful people you have in office right now. They are some of my favorites for certain with Adam Schiff at the top.

(54,420 posts)He may not have changed one Republican Senator's vote, but I bet he got into more than a few of their heads. I bet he got to a few Republican Senators who know they will probably not be here one year from now, and that will be partially because of the vote everyone knows they are about to cast next week for Trump's acquittal. I have to wonder how many of them are comfortable with pleasing McConnell in the short term over serving their country in the long term? Most? Probably. We can only hope that it's not all.
Bill Clinton was impeached over what was essentially a grudge over being the first Democrat elected to two terms since FDR. Trump was impeached for committing so many crimes in office that the House could no longer in good conscience look the other way. What does it say about us as a nation that probably more Senators will vote to acquit Trump than voted to acquit Clinton?

(63,221 posts)And very inspiring to those of us for whom truth matters. Unfortunately, the republicans are completely devoid of morality and decency and will stand behind their corrupt, malignant tumor of a president over the well-being of our nation. They all deserve to burn in hell for their treachery. Fuck them all.
