CBS News is reporting that the Trump team has threatened GOP senators that if they vote against

Trump, "their head will be on a pike".

Putting aside for the moment that this threat is a crime, how can the House Managers use this tomorrow? In a normal trial where jurors had been threatened, there would at the least be an inquiry by the presiding judge as to whether individual jurors were aware of the threat; had anyone directly communicated with them; did they feel intimidated, etc.

Could Schiff and company request such an inquiry as tomorrow's first order of business?

Could news reports of the threat be made a part of the record?

DAMN THIS DESPICABLE SONOFABITCH!

explanations for your vote. It's another to have the threat be graphically made public and you to be seen as bowing to it.

Some of these "good ol' boys" don't cotton to being publicly shamed.

Went into rolling over like a dog and showing their belly passive mode to him even before he got elected.

He could walk into a room and literally piss on every one of them, order them to lick themselves clean, they would, then come out in their damp suits and publicly kiss his ass.

And this bootstrap cramp always applied to the others for them. It never applied to them, it's just what they demand of everyone else. When going gets tough, they give their good little farmers subsidies which never get paid back.

Constitution Article 1,Section 5

Each House shall keep a Journal of its Proceedings, and from time to time publish the same, excepting such Parts as may in their Judgment require Secrecy; and the Yeas and Nays of the Members of either House on any question shall, at the Desire of one fifth of those Present, be entered on the Journal….

First of all, the Democrats aren't going to ask for an unprecedented "secret" vote.
Second, there easily are 20 Senators that would demand a recorded vote.

That would be another Article of Impeachment they can file against him.

In the meantime, if the Republicans want to get this nightmare over they need to convict him. And then immediately, convene the RNC to remove their current officers and replace them with members that will not kowtow to Trump. At the same time denying Trump access to any of the financial and other resources that normally would be available to him.
