Laurence Tribe sums up Adam Schiff perfectly ...

Rep Adam Schiff is a one-man master class in effective advocacy. He’s spellbinding without showboating, clear as a bell without being boring, educational without being condescending, and piercingly logical without being pedantic.

Outburst he seems to be hitting home. The fact that Lindsey was the only Senator that left the room when Schiff showed the clip of him during the last impeachment tells me Lindsey knows he has become a laughing stock. They had printouts so he knew that was coming.

Then went into that rant that Trump really believes. The truth is Trump does not believe anything, only spouts what he thinks will help him in the moment.

I have to wonder how many Senators will be willing to fall on Trumps sword and be besmirched for ever.

THEY’LL get away with it, too.

Remember that “three-way immunity” that Lev Parnas described to Rachel Maddow - when he described a conversation the gist of which was “I was told since Rudy G works for trump, who has total immunity, Rudy G ALSO has total immunity, and since I work for Rudy G, then that means I, too, have total immunity.”

But the pattern is: NOBODY ELSE ever gets away with it. Because in the end, trump is only in it for himself. He’ll issue pardons but only to buy others’ silence and cooperation, this benefiting himself. They’ll be left holding the bag, one way or the other. They’ll ALWAYS be left holding the bag. That’s why ol’ Lev is facing that bound-for-prison fate now. He’s a nobody who was willing to do the actual dirty work so the suits who hired him can keep their own hands presumably clean. He’s expendable. He’s no more valuable than the Cuban “White House Burglars” who were nobodies, too, and first to face real consequences. Of course, white guy James McCord was arrested too. And that was where the real “trouble” began. It was discovered that he wasn’t such a “nobody” after all. Not with his ties to the Committee to Re-Elect the President.

The following morning, Sunday, June 18, G. Gordon Liddy called Jeb Magruder in Los Angeles and informed him that "the four men arrested with McCord were Cuban freedom fighters, whom Howard Hunt recruited".

Can anyone doubt that Shiff could easily have been just as inspirational a voice in 1776 as he is now?

Perhaps more than ever, America needs a patriotic, smart and inspirational leader. The Democrats should draft Shiff to run for the Presidency.

He knew that he was fighting an uphill battle and that this would be a sham trial. That the Republicans would fall lock step behind McConnell and Trump. That all of the evidence in the world would not mean a damn thing to the Republican controlled Senate. In spite of all of that, he kept his head down, did what he knew was right, worked hard, gave it his all and presented his case to the the best of his abilities. He didn't let the partisanship stop him, knowing it might all be for naught. Winning wasn't as important to him as doing the right thing and protecting our country and constitution. It was never about him. He was amazing in spite of the odds against him.

In addition, like in Watergate, I couldn’t ignore the fact that through the miracle of modern communications, I was once again a witness to history. Live and in color! (It was in Black & White during Watergate.) How fortunate we are to live in these times to see this trial. I am holding on by the thinnest of strands that this will end with tRump being removed. The rational side tells me that the Senate won’t do the right thing. But that sliver of hope keeps me from despair. I am trying to prepare myself for the letdown of defeat. But I will never forget the job by Adam Schiff and the other House Managers to bring tRump to the richly deserved end to his presidency. History came alive tonight.
