Question for those who have worked both in government and private industry:

For myself I don’t ever remember being put in a position where I had to lie or keep quiet to protect those above me while working for the government. That sort of situation arose a couple times working in private industry. It’s one of the biggest reasons I ended up preferring to work for the government.

For those who have worked in both, were you ever ethically compromised working for the government? How about in private industry?

and a very large Fortune 500 corporation. I never had to do any such thing in either situation. I was a pretty small cog in those wheels, though, so if I'd been more important, who knows?

chose not to be. In one situation, I left my job rather than follow compromising orders. I have zero sympathy for these toady Republican lawmakers or the so called "public servants" who have kept quiet and have gone along with all of this.

I found all to be very straight shooters. The DoD doesn't fuck around. Lots of clearances and lots of $$$.

Doing work for a foreign Government. The Foreign Government were following "our" directions which were s**t. A couple of us were directed to point blame at the foreign workers. We were blindsided at a meeting to come up with stuff. I left that company soon after. A few weeks.
