I'm still holding out hope that Democrats can get a bipartisan majority for censure, although I am not holding my breath on it based on what Collins said yesterday. I think a censure resolution that gets several Republican votes makes it impossible for Trump to claim exoneration and say the whole thing was nothing more than a partisan witch hunt.

(24,437 posts)I think that we were somewhat worried about Collins (Doug), Sinema, and Manchin, but, in the end, they all did the right thing, possibly, or maybe largely because Mitch's sham yam of a trial and Republican refusal to hear more witnesses.
And we got Mittens on one charge, which is just the kind of thing that will stick hard in Trump's crawl.
