In a way, I'm glad my wife ChickMagic isn't here to see our national dumpster fire. Is that bad?

Hello, everyone:

Frankly, I'm surprised I haven't touched a drink during this whole national debacle. Donald Trump is now above the law and out of his fucking mind. Mitch McConnell has thrown due process under the bus in the name of collusion. All Nancy Pelosi can do is rip up the SOTU speech while Richard Burr makes babytalk at his own damn fidget spinner. Meanwhile, the Iowa Democratic Party decides to make caucusing fun for the whole family with one word: app. And yet, that jar of moonshine sites in the back of my refrigerator, untouched. Maybe I should hit the absinthe instead?

I'm no longer a Democratic precinct chair. Ten years is a nice long run, but I need to take care of myself for a while.

I found a girl. A California girl. And despite my own quirks, she loves me with all her heart. I'm leaving Dallas after 23 years to move in with her in nearby Plano. Yes, it is possible to move a queen-size bed on top of a RAV4, but it's definitely not a one-man job. I'm getting old. But she makes me feel a little younger.

I think ChickMagic would approve of her. She wanted me to find "some sweet young thing" in case anything happened to her, but this woman is a bit older than ChickMagic. I love older women. They're sexy. I regret nothing.

If anyone so much as breathes "individual mandate" during the 2020 campaign, I'll TP your house.

God bless Darlene Ewing (1953-2018), former Dallas County Democratic Party chair. We could use her wisdom right now.

So, how are you?

My dad HATED George W. I'm glad he doesn't have to see what this country has become.

I'm glad that you found love, the most precious commodity. Darlene would want to see you happy and cared for. Have a great time in Plano. Make Texas blue!

The individual mandate brought us the Tea Party. The Tea Party brought us Donald Trump. Paint by numbers.

I'm glad you're doing well!

My liberal dad died in June; he would have loved to see iq45 impeached, but what's happened since... I'm glad he wasn't here to see the complete, cowardly surrender by the rethugs, and their rending of the Constitution.

Mrs. Aristus is eight years older than me.

I was just thinking about you and ChickMagic the other day and wondering where you were. We both don't post a lot here.

I'm not going to be a precinct chair as well. I don't like the new voting system in Tarrant County, but we can now vote wherever we want on election day which is great. But my heart and soul is not into it anymore.

So, glad you have found love again. Love is an important that we all need

Are you still exploring ghost towns?

I haven't explored a ghost town in a long time. I still get the urge but life gets in the way a lot more nowadays.

I'm happy for you that you found someone to love.
I don't know about your wife not having made it to this juncture. Maybe. I'm 64 and i don't want to die before trump does. it's a fear, not a constant or obsessive type fear, but still. i want to stick around longer than him. and mcconnell that evil fuck.

So glad you found a nice lady to share your life with. Leave the booze alone. Congratulations for staying sober for so long. My late husband loathed Dubya, but he would REALLY hate tRump. I can not even see his photo without muttering "Ugly son of a bitch" Anyway, onto the next chapter of your life. Enjoy!

My mother was widowed at 45 and never remarried...never dated. I think she would have lived a happier, longer life if she had.

Careful about that mattress, ,my husband totaled a VW van years ago, with a queen size mattress on the top, ended up in a field. The mattress lived.
