WASHINGTON Citing a report from Fox News, President Trump said Thursday the jury that convicted his friend Roger J. Stone Jr. had a biased member a claim dismissed by a federal judge a day earlier.
The accusation that Mr. Stone was convicted by a prejudiced jury is the presidents latest attempt to undermine the case against Mr. Stone and feed mistrust of the Justice Department, a theme Mr. Trump has returned to again and again since his earliest days in office.
It was not immediately clear why Mr. Trump put the word justice in quotes, as he praised the leader of the Justice Department, Attorney General William P. Barr, on Wednesday for a decision to override a sentencing recommendation for Mr. Stone.
In a previously sealed filing, Mr. Stone argued that one of the jurors was biased against Mr. Trump and therefore he deserved a new trial. On Wednesday, Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled against that motion in the U.S. District Court in Washington. Mr. Stones sentencing is set for later this month.

(70,506 posts)One of the worst things that Reagan did was his killing off the fairness doctrine which allowed
the rise of Fox and other hate talk radio and tv shows for now > 2 generations and they are
brain dead for all practical purposes. Trump feeds of these walking zombies and this 25 to 35%
of America is his base.
A good read by a reporter who watched Fox for 44 months.

BTW If a jury member was prejudiced then Stone's lawyer could have filed an appeal
to a higher court which did not happen.
