in charge of all personnel decisions
Former White House chief of staff John Kelly forced McEntee out over issues with the young aide's security clearance. The issues were related to online gambling problems and mishandling of his taxes, the Wall Street Journal reported.
McEntee was also the subject of a financial-crimes investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.
McEntee was reportedly escorted out of the White House in March 2018 without being allowed to collect his belongings, including his jacket.

First Hope Hicks and now this guy. I don't know what's going on, but it sounds like he's getting personal minders back on staff.

(11,605 posts)If so, then he should be allowed to come back. Please don't attack me for saying that - I represent federal employees, including those faced with the loss of their clearance, and if the issues are resolved they are supposed to get their jobs back.
But the article doesn't say if that's the case here. Still, I am not a fan of the way the article is worded - he was terminated for alleged crimes. If no crime has been established he shouldn't be punished just for an alleged crime.
