What are your biggest fears about what Trump might do if he's re-elected?
Personally I've always had the same fear: That he might deliberately or inadvertently start a nuclear war. Or more likely a world war in the middle east.
My secondary fear is that his domestic policies are going to get me or one of my family and friends killed. Possibly due to lack of healhcare, gun violence, EPA rollbacks, eliminating the social safety net, etc...
Undoubtedly his cognitive decline and pathological narcissism is going to get worse. And the Republican party is going to become even more extreme.

I'm sure there are many others, but these would be my top priorities. My family hasn't done anything to deserve this bastard for 4 more years.

(3,427 posts)This is why it's so critical for us to win back the Senate. A Democratic Senate would be able to limit a lot of the damage Trump could do if, God forbid, he does get re-elected.

(26,289 posts)And I'll keep worrying about him and the 'confederacy of dunces' that belong to his cult. No matter what the outcome of the election, he will make problems. Should it be a fair election and he definitively loses, he won't accept the results and neither will his minions. One can only imagine how they will react. Should the election be 'controlled' by Putin, he will feel as if he has carte blanche to do whatever the hell he wants, to whomever the hell he chooses.
trump* and his family will be thorns in the side of this nation, long beyond his last days breathing oxygen.

-Attack on social safety net programs
-Another Supreme Court pick
-More right-wing judges
-Loss of progress on climate change programs
-Further loss of respect from world leaders
-More isolation in terms of global partnerships
-Spike in suicides due to hopelessness, fear and lack of confidence in domestic leadership.
-War with/in [fill-in the blank]
These are just the first that come to mind. There are others I still havent even thought of yet.
My mood on November 4 is going to be extreme, either way.
I fear my mood wont improve if we lose.

(1,115 posts)I will concentrate on feeding me and my family with as little contact with others as possible.
I will not participate in anything political again because doing so will only get me and my family killed.
I will keep my head down and bide my time. Dictatorships always fall and I'l be there to try to pick up the pieces.

So, I would add Gilead to my list of fears.
The Washington Monument turned into a cross, and Abe Lincolns statue unrecognizable.
It tears at my very soul.
Trump is destroying this country.
We must vote him out in November. And protect all that we can until Inauguration Day in 2021.
He will try hard to see that we dont have one.

(45,806 posts)RBG has been ill several times. I kniw she keeps fighting on, but statistics say she can't go on forever! He's already screwed up the Fed. Courts with his incapable judges which he'll only make worse.
He's already almost started a new war with Iran, so nothing's stopping him from doing THAT again, or with N Korea!
He's close to destroying the FBI & is working on wrecking on screwing up several other departments of our Country.
I don't want to find out whatever other mayhem he can create without even trying!

(25,895 posts)I like to say that at least Germany was lucky enough to lose WWII.
Realistically, we'll become Spain. Back in the late 16th century it was a genuine world power, with a navy that went everywhere, conquering indigenous peoples everywhere, establishing colonies around the globe.
Then two things happened to it. One, it sent an Armada to attempt to conquer England and lost badly, thanks both to the English navy and a bad storm. Two, it decided to tax the poor, not the rich. Oh, for a while Spain continued to be something of a world power, but that power steadily eroded, and it wasn't long before it was essentially a has-been country. Now, I've never been to Spain, and I'm sure if I ever get there I will like it. The rare Spanish people I've met have all been quite nice, and are probably gracious and welcoming to tourists.
If Trump is re-elected, money will pour from any and all social programs, infrastructure projects, research of any kind besides military, and so on. Taxes on the rich will be cut. Those on the middle class and poor will be raised. Meanwhile, this country is being seen more and more as an irrelevant joke by the rest of the world. That's especially true of the person of Donald Trump. By 2024 we'll be a laughing-stock, a backwater no gives a flying fuck about.
I recently told my son that when he completes his PhD in astronomy, he seriously look for work in another country, preferably one that would be easy for me to go live in also.

Being rooted out as transgendered and murdered by right wing nuts and bigots.. having to listen to Christian bull shit getting triggered and freaking out when I go there because I have to eat. Or in plain desperation killing myself because there is no way out of this shit. That's my fears. And my other fear is this will happen to countless others.
