Should We People Be Concerned About Domestic Travel?.....

A friend of mine and his wife and two kids (1 1/2 y/o and 3 y/o) have a short 4 day trip planned on second week of March. They will be flying from Minneapolis to Phoenix so they can watch a few 'pre-season' Cubs and WSox games.

Given the current Covid-19 situation here in the U.S. - if it were me - I'd cancel this trip and not put myself or my kids in any unnecessary contact with people or places and risk coming into contact with the virus.

I'd like to have this discussion with him - but I don't want to overstep my bounds. What do you think I should do?

We’re more likely to get hit by a car then pick up the conovirus right now.

Otherwise, unless someone is severely and chronically ill (lung disease, cancer, etc), I'd not be overly concerned.

There were less people around me coughing and hacking and sneezing than usual, in fact. Just make sure to bring some sanitizing wipes for when you eat, before you rub your eyes, etc. and avoid people coughing up a lung.

hold onto handles that everyone else is grabbing. I carry travel packs of Wet Ones wipes, myself.

Unless you plan to hide in your basement or go off the grid in Idaho, you will be encountering people: at the grocery store, on the subway to work, at the movies. Planes (and baseball games) are probably at equal risk.
