(12,660 posts)Supposedly because his staff was diverse, his first term policies focused on Black America almost as much as White America, the economy started going up, and "he was cool".
I remember that period pretty well.
Don't get me started on his second term Welfare Reform debacle, though.

Even Tim Scott has been forced, once or twice, to realize that some of his fellow Republicans have an "N" word for him, too, and it isn't "Nazi."
