No word yet - I really hope he and his family are OK

I suspect that even if our friends are safe they aren't likely to have power.

46,000 without power

Came through about 3 in the morning.

Tornado sirens were going off.

The rain was incredibly dense.

Our neighborhood suffered no damage that we can see.

Mostly Germantown and East Nashville.

Some of our friends have home damage. One of the neighborhoods we frequent for dinner and shopping has been flattened. It's awful, just devastating.

I immediately checked the weather service warnings and saw that it was predicted to come through my community at 12:50. It was an intense night, with heavy rain, wind, hail, and tornado sirens at two different points but I am ok and my house is still here! Electricity is out in my house and neighborhood.

They are designating other places for those voters but I hope people won't be too preoccupied with the post-tornado havoc to vote today. It might understandably be the last thing on your mind when your home has been flattened or a loved one injured.
