The Democratic Party should be making plans NOW for how they will respond to

and HAMMER a Trump refusal to debate prior to the general election. They should be laying down markers now for what formats, venues and hosts will be appropriate.

"Empty chair" debate?

Will networks provide air time even if Trump does not show up?

These are questions best addressed before answers are demanded by the press and the electorate.

Just display as many as time allows, on a big screen, behind the empty podium and let our candidate confront and dispute them with truth and legal realities.

I think the assumption that he'll avoid the debates is a little unrealistic. We heard the same thing in the 2016 campaign and he showed up.

Hannity will be one of the questioners. Unfortunately the president will have pull on the debates more then a candidate.
