Maybe surfaces like glass, stainless steel, plastic and formica are less permeable? nt Mike 03 Mar 2020 #2
I don't know for sure but I expect that textured/rough surfaces can cause damage to the virus abqtommy Mar 2020 #5

cells as they're moved about about by this and that action. There's not as big a risk for the cells on smooth surfaces. But just to be safe use the disinfectant of your choice on ALL surfaces to take no chances.

With 48hrs - that is one tough virus.

What was unclear is if this applies to all wood products like paper or cardboard. I get the mail and packages with gloves and Lysol them. Wait 8hrs and then open.

Would post but the image hosting is down. I got it from a co-worker in HK.

I asked how they decontaminate when coming inside:
Disinfection:
1. Wet the carpet outside your door with either alcohol or 1 9 bleach and step your shoes on the carpet leave shoes outside the door,
2. Clean your wallet/purse, credit card, keys etc with alcohol wipe,
3. If u wear glasses and cap u need to spray it with alcohol after getting home,
4. Change all clothes and wash them after getting home, for the clothes which u can’t and don’t wash, use a dry iron to press them or put them into dryer for 15 mins

My family has adopted this. We are in Clark County, WA. Everything we do before the outbreak hits will seem extreme and after it is acknowledged it will all seem inadequate.
