Are things being cancelled in your area? I'm in the Seattle area

and EVERYTHING is being cancelled—trips, classes, parties, meetings, Amazon and FB are asking people to work from home.

We’re basically not doing anything in groups. There’s some small alarm about someone I was in a room with a week ago but we hope it’s not Coronavirus. She’s a tad hysterical but went to the ER last night I understand. Hope she gets tested.

We’re considering it our patriotic duty. This ain’t bullshit. And btw FUCK TRUMP.

in the Bay Area a number of tech conferences, including a big one sponsored by my company, are canceled.

I expect that classes will be canceled for a few weeks here in the central valley any day now. At least I hope so.

If it were up to me, I would be canceling any political rallies, trade shows, closing movie theaters, plays, even sporting events... until further notice.

Paranoid? A little... but do we really WANT to be Italy or South Korea (never mind China) before we take such measures?

BTW, all of those gatherings I just mentioned... canceled or curtailed in those countries now.

Cancelled the biggest trade show of the year in Chicago. The build was supposed to start Wednesday morning they called it 5pm Tues evening. Not exactly sure what the deciding factor was. I can guess. It would have meant jobs for about 300+ tradespeople for 2 around the clock weeks. Not to mention jobs for security, food service, etc...

This was discussed on the radio this am. How some of the big conventions and trade shows are being cancelled and how this will affect employment in the surrounding areas. As you say--the people that work in and around the events will be losing out on work and pay. It has a ripple effect.

One caller who has a gourmet spice company here in the US gets her packaging from China and is currently not able to get it. So she is buying it here in the US now, but her cost has gone from $.15 a piece to $1.25 a piece. Obviously this will make a big difference on her bottom line and what the consumers have to pay. She is worried.

There was also a contractor on tv the other night, saying that his workers are required to wear a specific kind of mask for their job--I think it involved spraying some kind of chemical or product. Because people are freaking out and buying up all kinds of masks he can not get the kind his crew is required to wear. So he said they can not do the job and will have to not go to the site, just have to wait until they can get masks. Now there is a whole backed up situation where a project can't be done.

The speculation was that if this really spreads widely it can bring on another recession.

While the upcoming Adobe, ASEAN, Atmosphere, and NXT conferences have been canceled due to the spread of coronavirus, many other upcoming conferences in Las Vegas are still scheduled as planned.
This statement is a little bothersome to me.........“This isn’t the Zombie apocalypse,” said Geri Wolff, spokeswoman for the Digital Signage Expo, set for April 1-2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. (4000-5000 expected attendance).

seem to be carrying on as usual.

Yesterday was the first day when I walked into the classroom before the hour and they were taling about the virus.

I went to the grocery store later and bought 3 boxes of hand-sanitizer wipes. It didn't apper as though anyone else had bought any. Same thing with Clorox wipes.

I'm 73 and worried am not terribly afraid. I'll take sensible precautions, but having died once already . . .

If it comes here, I wonder if we will have adequate response resources in place. We do have some good hospitals nearby.

I have decided, until this dies down, to distance myself a bit. I will not cut out all social contact, though.

I have decided to walk outside and exercise at home rather than renew my gym membership. Fitness centers can be germ factories. Also, I needed to get another pneumonia vaccine. I did that today. It has been ten years since the last one.

I have a weak immune system.

I shouldn't say if it comes here, but when it comes here. We are so unlucky to have a madman as a so-called leader.

I was in my favorite juice bar Monday and this poor ginseng product manufacturer was talking to my juice lady, talking about how a health food convention was cancelled at the last minute, after he had already arrived by air and booked a hotel for a week. He was left with nothing to do but go to various health food stores to see if they were interested in his product.

And I was supposed to participate in a marketing resesearch interview this month for my electric car, but today I just got an email that they are suspending all marketing research interviews because of the coronavirus risk.

Today on Thom Hartmann's show he read a day by day account from a British, healthy, 25 year old man that went through 30+ days with the virus. Horrifying details of what he went through, his cat even died, possibly contacted through him. The transcript may be on his website, so if ya can, read it. No one is safe, absolutely. Nothing like trumps disrciption. Be careful all, believe nothing from GOP and especially Fox. Mass murderes, right, white, wing extremist, terrorists. With plenty of our cash to send Jr on hunting trips, just not test kits.

Local news said it was some sort of study abroad program. And the people they interviewed were really bummed over the cancellation. Dont blame them. Who knows if they'll ever get another chance to go to Italy?
And a friend of my wife was planning to go to the Philippines to visit some relatives, but her flight was cancelled indefinitely.

Magnesium is needed for at least three hundred enzyme reactions. Inadequate levels are implicated in lots of problems like ADHD, bipolar behavior, depression and worse.

Iron, too. Zinc very much. Zince is required for at least 200 enzyme reactions, essential for tissue repair and wound healing. Zinc deficiencies lead to increased susceptibility to infectious disease.

They're at the drug store, and are not synthetic, obviously, yet overlooked when people try to keep their immunity systems strong. They are among the micronutrients not present enough in our veggies.

I guess this sounds like a weird psa, but preventive steps in strengthening your immune system can maybe help you feel a bit better.

Peace and good health.

cancel and reschedule our annual Member's Exhibit, which was to open later this month. Many of our artists are older and this is their social event of the season. We usually draw over 100 people to our gallery, and that is a tight fit. We felt that it would be better to be safe than to be sorry. We are in NYS.

The bus was half empty, traffic was very light. The office is half deserted.

I was at Pike Place Market a couple of days ago and it was eerily quiet. We're being given the option of working from home until March 20th. Our cafeteria at work has closed the salad bar and self-serve breakfast area, winnowed down the menu, and removed all reusable cutlery.

Work-related travel is cancelled until April. Client meetings are being cancelled and no food from outside vendors is being permitted.

The office smells like Clorox wipes, which is going to be tough on people with asthma, since bleach is an irritant.

This is for a large hospital system in RI. They were changed to being recorded and availableto view on line.
Other departments are not cancelling, however. With community transmission likely to have started here, and the need to keep health workers safe, I think the Dept of Medicine has approached this in a responsible way.

has been cut way back. They are still having the competitions, and may or may not allow spectators in. I’ve heard both so not sure. But the huge fitness trade show has been cancelled. This is the biggest event in Columbus, so a lot of people are losing a lot of money. There haven’t been any cases in Ohio yet, but I’m glad they took this step.
