CNBC's Rick Santelli says 2% should go ahead and get Covid-19 so markets can stabilize

Rick Santelli on
@CNBC
just made the argument that we'd be better off if everyone got the #coronavirus right away and 2% of the world died off, so that financial markets could stabilize.

Rick likes Republicans, don't be like Rick. This should go viral.

No doubt he'd be mortally offended by such a callous and cavalier attitude toward his indispensable presence on the planet.

7 billion people on the planet, no immunity, 3.2 percent fatality rate (according to the CDC).

But hey... it would mostly be old people (over 60) who have issues already... so that's not a problem right?

OTOH, many who get it and recover also have lung damage...

What an asshole.

This is so screwed up I can't even get my mind around it. What the hell is WRONG with these people?

They always think it is going to be somebody else, but never them. Guess what? It could easily be you. And hopefully it will be.

There's a little webcomic I enjoy very much that suggested that if everybody stays indoors for two weeks then it's all clear. I fought the urge to red-face scream the writer into hiding. Every new case refreshes that two-week window, and in reality that window is actually a lot longer than two weeks; they were thinking of the incubation period.

So everyone gets sick and 2% die, presuming it doesn't turn out to be even more lethal. Those who recover spend six weeks in hospital and some people will never be right again as the virus attacks the gut and the heart and the lungs. And then there are the relapses.

...How's that suit your projections, Rick?

If every Republican were summarily executed, a lot of America's problems would vanish. What do you think--for lack of a more appropriate word for the bag of diseased rats swarming in your skull--of that, Rick?
