Breaking: Reports that #King #Salman of #Saudi_arabia Arabia has died (still unconfirmed), which may explain Crown Princes arrests of other royal family members. If true, will pave way for a very different-looking Saudi Arabia.

(14,961 posts)1. I wonder if he had respiratory issues? I heard a fleeting
rumor last week, nothing solid enough to post here. Maybe it's just a coincidence, he was sick or had an illness right?

In August 2010, Salman underwent spinal surgery in the United States and remained out of the kingdom for recovery. He has had one stroke and despite receiving physiotherapy; his left arm does not work as well as his right. Salman also suffers from mild dementia, specifically Alzheimer's.

(14,961 posts)8. Thank you Dennis. I remember the Alzheimer's now from
when MBS jailed everyone at the Ritz Carlton.

Saudi King Either Dead or On His Deathbed: Whistleblower
By

King Salman of Saudi Arabia is most probably dead or is currently on his deathbed, Saudi whistleblower and Twitter activist Mujtahid has said on Saturday, after news came out that the Saudi authorities have detained two of the kingdoms most prominent figures for an alleged coup attempt.
In a post on his Twitter account on Saturday, Mujtahid, the Twitter handle of a pseudonymous activist, said King Salman is either dead or at deaths door.
He explained that tens of people from the royal family have been detained, not only Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, a brother of King Salman, and the monarchs nephew Prince Mohammed bin Nayef.
The court staff, the royal palace personnel, and the royal guard members have been told that visiting the king is impossible due to his health conditions, Mujtahid noted.
The whistleblower also noted that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is going to issue a statement on behalf of his father to declare the kings abdication.

(18,770 posts)10. That's weird. How is it an "abdication" if he died?
If he's dead and they're delaying the announcement, it might be the bonesawing is taking longer than anticipated.

(17,197 posts)11. Maybe he has been abdicated
With extreme prejudice.
