We're lucky in some ways that Trump is such a self centered idiot
This coronavirus has gotten people’s attention. Even if it turns out to not be as bad as expected, Trump could use people’s emotional response to it for political gain. Just thinking of Bush and 9/11. He was being openly mocked as a ineffective monkey (comics of the time). 9/11 came along and he and his cohorts jump on that to play to America’s fear and patriotism to ram thru all sorts of crap. Of course that group (can’t remember the name, American Heritage or something) actually had some plans and goals. Trump has neither beyond personal profits. He could have turned this all into a national emergency and gotten a blank check for awhile. Maybe the current rethugs have thought of that but the orange abomination is incapable of thinking of anything beyond his personal ego and profit.
