I have had some experience with the school. I learned we now have a case or so in state so I called the security office and asked what they were doing. Emphasis on hand-washing, etc, everything experts are saying to do.

I asked if they were going to online classes. He said no, just students were not travelling. He may have have meant sports, conferences, etc. In my experience students used to travel home, to friends at any excuse. As I recall, I asked about home for holidays and got definite impression they would be strongly discouraged from travelling then.

In case I misunderstood, I don't want to tell name of school.

Friday seems to have been a tipping point.

My university - blocked all university sponsored travel for both students and faculty.
Teaching staff (faculty, adjuncts, and contract professionals) were ordered to prepare teachout plans for the remainder of the school year (i.e. some means of teaching remotely to ensure students were able to complete their classes, in case we are forced to close the campus). Students have not yet been informed of the latter.

I have heard from friends of mine on staff at other universities that their schools made similar decisions on Friday.

Since I have no idea which school you are talking about, this article discusses: The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University; University of Central Oklahoma canceled spring-break and April study tours in Italy. The University of Tulsa also suspended travel and programming in any country reaching a Level 3 restriction.

If you go to the university site, most have a search tool. Enter COVID and see what pops up.

Here's what popped up in Tulsa, for example:
