Trump told R senators in private lunch he wants a payroll tax holiday *through the Nov election*!!

Scoop: Trump told Republican senators in private lunch that he wants a payroll tax holiday *through the November election,* sources tell me. He doesn’t want taxes to go back up before voters decide whether to return him to office. Story out soon.

That isn't how the payroll tax cut in 2011-2012 worked.

The idea of having them in place through the elections is not new: the 2011-2012 cuts were allowed to stay in place through the end of 2012 (past the 2012 election) and only expired starting in January 2013.

We were attacked by Saudi terrorists located in Afghanistan.

Let's attack Iraq.

The payroll tax Holiday was already on the drawing board. Now use it for something totally unrelated and of limited usefulness. Never let a crisis go to waste. It is pathetic that he specified it through the election - no justification for that time frame other than the election. In its way that is just as bad as soliciting/threatening Ukraine for dirt on his political opponent.

Bloomberg gear up the attack ads.

nice.

Wedges working population against the seniors if the Dems talk about reinstating it or if the House refuses to go along.
Of course all speding and tax bills originate in the House, so they could send this to the Senate asa bone in a huge bill of things we want like putting the payroll tax on the rich. Make them pay it on incomes above 250k for the duration of the time it is suspended on working people.
