Well the Post Office employees seem clueless about the corona-virus...

Duh, I arrived at the PO with a return just before the end of the day, the clerk is going about her business but apparently she is determined to have these long engaging conversations about vitamins and every thing else. Her customer is an old woman probably 70ish that works school security. Well she keep coughing and they keep talking. the Alarm bells don't seem to be functioning in the clerk. Meanwhile people on line are getting uncomfortable a younger male 30's is making all kids of movement to move away from the clerk and customers space. It was ridiculous but he was having major discomfort especially when she's hacking away and sometimes remember to cough into her sleeve. Finally the clerk realizes and call him up, now he has to use the touch screen on the credit card machine. Remembering the lady before him was hacking all over the place and just finish using it. There were no wipes to be seen no sanitizers for customers, zippo. She tells the guy it will be ok. WTF planet did she fall off, Apparently the Post Office isn't getting the message. The only one taking precautions now is the congress republicans. I got home fast and washed my hand and wiped down with wipes. Two other old customers said they would wait...again its the clueless that will kills us. Note I'm 63, I try to avoid sick people.

but not of the clerk, the man, or yourself. Or maybe I just missed it as I skimmed the story.

She's separated from me by a bullet-resistant plastic panel, but she's counting piles of cash and coins and rubbing her mouth, and coughing without trying to cover up. No tissues or hand sanitizer in view, either for her or for the bank customers. I really would have expected that this major bank would have had employee training by now.

I took my thermal-printer receipt from the opposite end she'd handled it with, went home and washed my hands thoroughly.

and they are encouraging people to use them, and you have to use them if, like me, you shop very early in the morning before the human checkers arrive. You've got people right behind you waiting impatiently, and you're repeatedly touching a screen that virus survives on for more than ninety hours (96 I believe) and that dozens of people have touched, sneezed and coughed on. It's safe if you remember to wash your hands immediately after you leave, but if you get flustered you can touch your face by mistake or transfer virus somewhere else on your person or to your bag and bring it home that way.

Normally I wouldn't worry about it, but now it's hard not to be conscious of every move you make.

I'm thinking of doing most of my shopping at another store.

to the community. The women in my instant works in the schools, there is no doubt that they must have bee told. They will all be shutting down soon. Its the older people in these cases that think they are invincible. The youngest death in the US is age 39 a guy with a diabetic condition. Flu is indiscriminate corona isn't.

Many people stop and use the wipes to wipe their carts as they come into the main part of the store. I need to get into that habit, but I have tried to do it as often as I can remember.

They don't have self checkouts, but then you have the problem of the clerk handling everything including money.

Why not suggest to the manager that they provide wipes at the self checkouts?

As well as the Target across the road from said Walmart seem to be proactive. Walmart and Target both have wipes and sanitizers by the carts and sanitizers and wipes there when you walk into self checkout.
The cashier's are not wearing gloves but a few are. There is a bottle of sanitizer on every checkout where the cashier and customers both can reach it. They have had sanitizer at the pharmacy counters forever. They are doing better than some stores I think.
