The self-called Smartest Guy in the Universe is shooting from the hip again, saying something that sounds superficially, um, OK without thinking the ramifications through. Banning contact from Europe harms not just the US tourism industry, but large swaths of the rest of the economy as well. Students, engineers, professionals coming for conferences or meetings, imports - and I'm sure there are many, many more areas I haven't thought of.

Or maybe Putin suggested that The Orange Idiot spite Europe while leaving his other pupper Boris Johnson alone. Hmm, I wonder how this will affect his golf course in Ireland - not part of the UK.

In the last 6 years I've taken a American Airlines flight from Stockholm through Heathrow to Chicago. Also Zurich through Heathrow to Chicago on British Airways. This stops nothing.

the only thing he seems to care about. He thinks he can turn his coronavirus response into a positive. He only did one thing right - banning anyone traveling from China early on. That really helped to delay the pandemic but not much has been done since then and he is terrified of test kits freely available.
