Irony is alive and well as church tells the sick to stay away.

Being of a practical mind, I get the reasoning, but - Ohhhhh, the irony!

“We communicated with our congregation on Friday and basically asked them, please don’t come if you’re sick,” said Cathy Bien, senior director of communications for the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.”

More at the article: “Diocese: No more holy water, holy wine. KC churches, temples modify for coronavirus.” https://www.kansascity.com/news/business/health-care/article241062161.html

Edited to add . . . But wait, there’s more! “A conservative Christian pastor issued an angry rebuke of churches taking measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, calling them “sissies” and “pansies” who have been “neutered.”
He went on to say
“Catholic Church not having holy water in the lobby — how holy is the water then?” he said in his rant. “That should be a sign to you that your whole religion’s a fraud. Any faith that doesn’t work in real life is a fake faith. Totally fake.” https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2020/03/pastor-says-sissies-pansies-wash-hands-prevent-coronavirus/

My friends, turn in your Bibles to the Book of Matthew, Chapter 25, Verse 31, and read along with me:

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

And he shall set responsible people on his right hand, but Donald Trump and his minions on the left.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye closed your churches and meeting-halls so no one else would get sick: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Then shall he say also unto Donald Trump and his followers, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

For I was an hungred, and ye cut food stamps: I was thirsty, and ye destroyed water quality standards:

I was a stranger, and ye stole from your fellowman to build a wall to keep me out: naked, and ye beat me up for being poor: sick, and ye held huge rallies that sickened and killed thousands, and in prison after committing no crime, and ye said I got what was coming to me.

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

For the inevitable news he's got the virus.

He seems particularly thick, for thinking the water, minus holy, would be left to contaminate people.
