(14,487 posts)Maybe tomorrow or early next week. My Director is pushing for it, but hasn't gotten the OK from upper leadership.

(10,303 posts)Our employer has addressed the situation but for the most part I'm isolated from society. My biggest interactions are with the shippers, the consignees and the staff at places like Love's and Flying J.
I don't know what the situation would be if I'm actually diagnosed with Covid-19 but I'm sure that bridge will be crossed when we get there.

(22,357 posts)I was a full-time remote employee, and worked full-time at home for five years. For me, it's bliss.

(33,643 posts)We're all programmers and everyone has remote capability through one means or another.
Our Ops guy might get stuck having to come in no matter what though at least some of the time.
Nobody in management is a wingnut so things will be handled appropriately.

(4,608 posts)We are open and have been sanitizing the hell out of *everything* with a stronger bleach solution since February. We were already being cautious due to flu season. Separate stack for menus that have been touched (which get sanitized on our downtime), hand sanitizer bottles on every table, extra paper towels and trash cans by each door, and my already near-OCD level of hand washing has hit an all-time high. Each refill gets a fresh glass, no using pitchers to refill tea and water. We arent using straws (we dont wanna touch the used ones) and are being generally paranoid. Of everyone.
We have several elderly employees, and a few of us have regular contact with our elderly parents, so we are being as careful as possible.

(11,795 posts)I usually do my research and writing work at home, but I'm currently retooling my syllabi for my students.

(38,317 posts)I don't regularly have any face-to-face contact with people and that's the way I like it.
My adult children have been sent home to work as much as possible. They've had their schedules severely disrupted. One of my kids had a national conference canceled.
My wife is a health care professional serving a highly at-risk patient population. It's going to be a nightmare if things go as they have in Italy. This like waiting for a hurricane to hit.
Most of my extended family are teachers or health professionals. Three of my nieces teach younger children.
We are so screwed.

(63,221 posts)I couldn't be happier. I don't mind being at work, but I hate getting up early and the whole process of getting ready and going in. This is almost like a vacation for me. I can actually sleep an hour later and don't have to get dressed or commute (my commute is not that bad). I will also save money, which is another bonus.

(26,355 posts)Up until the end of last year, I was working in a call center that was a damned petri dish, and despite the fact we were all doing a job that involved using a computer and a telephone, the place was always on prison-lockdown, and there was no way anyone was going to be allowed to work from home.

(42,334 posts)but I go out and do interviews on a regular basis. I also teach water aerobics at a local gym 2 mornings a week.
I expect the gym will be closing at some point - no cases in our county yet, but it's coming.
