Coronavirus? I blame the Democrats!

You know it's going to happen. The Republicans are focus group testing memes and talking points as you read this. They are going to blame Democrats for the pandemic, they just haven't figured out how to make the claim yet. But blame they will.

We've seen this movie a hundred times before. Previous fact-free installments included Obamaphone, Benghazi, and Hunter Biden (to be continued). Millions of people will immediately cling to the next scapegoat story like it's a life raft. There is one important difference between the coming right-wing coronavirus fiction and all the previous scapegoat stories- it will be offered as an explanation of why many thousands or even millions of people have died.

And don't count out Obamaphones. I volunteer at the local Democratic office and got a prank call about a week ago from someone who claimed he was using his Obamaphone.
