On 4th Feb they put a ban against visitors from Hubei province of China (Wuhan's). Relatively early.

Then they followed up, this is key, they followed up with strenuous contact tracing, quarantining, and drive-by testing with high testing rates all around.

They have a better lid on it for a while now as Iran and Italy have gotten much worse despite being later starters.

Trump's ban on China visitors, earlier on Jan. 30, which he trumpets loudly and often, was not followed up and thus the US has a big and growing problem.

It is a result of tRump's Six Words "I don't take responsibility at all."
