Well before the event at ML. Repubs here have been critical of him for not being the Trump butt boy they expected him to be. It's rather strange.

If the virus doesn't take me out, the extra workload will!
I will lose a lot of people in my department due to having to stay home with their children.

Which in general are experiencing some significant staffing shortages at this time. I don't know how they will manage additional work combined with staff getting sick being off for a couple weeks.

They aren't giving a mic to those asking them, so all you hear are the answers.
You would think after 20 or so questions, someone in audio would figure it out! Jeesh!

Of course, it helps that it's MA and Governor Baker ran and operates as an old school northeastern Republican.

Solid scaling up of closures and limiting people getting together, working to ease panic as much as possible, working closely with the cities and various resources/groups to make sure everything is getting covered.

I'll never vote for him but I've been impressed since he first got in.

But politically horrible does not always mean stupid like Trump. Just horrible.

He had a presser today. Every time a question was asked about the strategy to minimize the spread he turned it over to the relevant health experts. Did not minimize the risk. It was refreshing.

It is obvious that it is up to the governors to actually protect us.

I read the asshole in Ohio has been on it as well.

But governors are closer to the people and are not always as partisan secure. DeSantis barely Won.

One of the instructors at my gym is an elementary school teacher. She said the local district will remain open, and only close schools where a student is reported to be infected. Apparently, they don't think any of these kids have siblings or friends at other schools.

available in my county. Despite being a big U. town - where there are many opportunities for wide-spread spread.

I call that a hedging, not focusing on the seriousness of the pandemic, call - leaving it to school districts to decide to stay opened or closed.
