Words of a wise man that I knew in my youth applies to this administration

I’ll post this here was gonna post it on vets board. Reason why I post it here hey we’re all in a shit storm with this pandemic.
My first platoon sgt I served with him in as enlisted 82nd 2/325 PIR a fine SFC he would say to us.

Men their are those who can do and that is us.
And men then their are those who think they can do and they cannot. And those are the dumb fuckers in charge.

Let me ramble and tell you about this wise fine warrior a E-7 who took care of all of us especially private cherries like teb. He only went to the if I remember to the ninth grade. And dropped out of school to help his family in nineteenth sixties he was from eastern Kentucky. And he got caught up in the draft and served tour in Vietnam. And decided to make the army a career.

I would have followed him out of aircraft anywhere not out of blind obedience. But out of duty and honor and the love and respect that warriors have to each other.

He would also explain to us there is two groups in this world.
Those that have and those that do not. Or to tell you how he said it the haves and haves not who don’t have a shitting brown bag to shit In.

And all of us are on the brown paper bag team in life sorry for the bad news men but it is reality. Even you LT lieutenant cuz you got no ring from West Point. You just community college and OBIC officer basic infantry course you’ll probably retire a LTC lite colonel cuz ring knockers only get the full birds he was so truthful.

That day we were barbecuing and drinking beer it was Friday evening. We were celebrating I think five of us getting our EIB (expert infantrymen badge) one morning after PT he gathered us privates and told us you all gonna go EIB program you will challenge yourselves I do not tolerate ass and trash men. And we gave up weekends and evenings to train.

Now this is leadership unlike today with orange moron. Did he just toss us no our NCO in the platoon who majority of them had RANGER TABS took us and trained us land navigation just example to prepare for the course. The 5 infantry P’s the piss poor planning promotes poor performance.

Like today we knew of this coronavirus outbreak as early as December and trump just stuck his head in the sand.

Maybe 2 years later I ran into this fine SFC I caught a PCs. To west Germany cuz I was taken off jump status had a broken ankle twice. My ankle didn’t care for hitting Mother Earth from the sky my mech infantry battalion was on a Graf and hoehnsfeldt training rotation. And we had sometime off in hoehnsfeltd waiting for another unit to clear.

And that unit was the ABCT airborne combat team out of Vicenza. And walking back with case of beer I ran into my old SFC who was now company first sgt. We got drunk together on a grassy hill he was fine people sorry for the ramble I’m just stressed like all of us.

So as the wealthy get tested and the elite for coronavirus. All of us don’t have a brown bag to shit in.

The Orange Monster wouldn't have lasted two seconds in training and would have stayed miles away from anything like that

memories of stories by my late husband, U.S Marine, warrior, and both of those to the very end... now my partner is Air Force Vet and Medic and the stories continue but I never tire of them (my father and grandfather were Army Vets and not so many stories from them)

There are many good people out there and I embrace you all!
