No pet food in the stores?

I try to feed my 3 kitties a quality holistic diet. Damn it, shelves end to end cleaned out south of Pittsburgh. Dog food, cat food. I feel like a modern urban hunter foraging for my family .

1. Do you have a Pet Supplies Plus in your area? I just stopped into one after work, when

I saw posts suggesting that people need to stock up on pet food. They were very well-stocked, and I even found a nice deal on the dry food my cat enjoys.

Okay, I just looked at their store finder, and see that there are 3 in your metro area. Just give them a call or buy it online for an in-store pickup.

3. yeah, the panic buying of random stuff is puzzling

and seems to have some regional weirdness.

I went out grocery shopping yesterday.

local store (which had everything a week ago)...

no bread, no canned goods, no pasta (none), no water (but plenty of flavored tea), no TP or paper products of any kind, no cleaning supplies... but plenty of PB and jelly, plenty of frozen dinners, pet food, even fresh meat.

some of these things I understand... but the pasta bit was strange. I guess a lot of folks are going to "carb up" for the coming lockdown (which just happened today)

But just go to another store...try a feed store. Otherwise, speaking for my critters, they’re quite happy with eggs, meat, rice, etc.

7. I placed an order with Chewy this morning.

I have a couple picky cats who only like certain flavors of canned food. I try to give my blind kitty her favorite because she’s spoiled rotten.

They were out of a number of items but they had Blind Kitty’s salmon.

I own none, but feed five.

My pooches are much easier.

This group found me when I bought my house.

I’ve had them all fixed and feed them daily. One has decided to come in and grace me with his presence occasionally; the others allow petting now, but still skittish.

5. Just got my order from Instacart

for my Kirkland cat food, 25lb. That and the kitty litter that I ordered was thankfully in stock! Three out of my 12 items were not, but I'll survive without them. My cats are more important.

Rural King. TSC. Landmark. All carry a nice variety of brands.

9. Petsmart in Brooklyn had plenty, and Chewy is delivering

13. Got my kitty stash!

Farm Store, not as pillaged as the big box stores!

Order in to Chewy but by immediate problem was solved.

Now if I could only find toilet paper I wouldn't have to share the litter box.

14. I went to Petsmart this morning. They had lots.

I now have 3 extra bags of dog food. But where to put it?
