This year is the 40th anniversary of the start of closed captioning for the deaf, developed at WGBH Boston TV station 1980. And later, DVS, Descriptive Video for blind and visually impaired audiences was pioneered there.

that she can control it.
If youve ever seen how kids act when they can hear the echo of their own voice, which sometimes happens in certain buildings, you can see how puzzled they first look and how quickly they catch on that its their voice and that they can control it. Its a lot of fun to watch. It can get pretty loud.
