And we know that he decided to run because he thought how easy Clinton governed with the impeachment.. and other "scandals."

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. It really bothers me that most people in this country just to seem to have a "default" mode of voting for Republicans. It feels like we have to have either the best Democratic candidate in years or the worst Republican candidate in years or some combination of both in order to win. And when we do manage to get a Democrat into the White House, they do a great job, and at the end of their 8 years, the voters are like, "Well, that was a great 8 years. Time to default back to Republican." It's starting to become infuriating.

These Republican voters just don't seem to learn. Bush ruins the economy and Bill Clinton swoops in to the rescue. He rescues the country from recession and builds the strongest economy ever seen, and at the end of his 8 years, we had the chance to keep that momentum going with an almost seamless transition to Gore, and voters thought, nah, let's give this bumbling moron who's failed at everything he's ever done in his entire life a shot at it.

Fast forward 8 more years, the economy is in shambles AGAIN and we get a breath of fresh air in Obama who comes in, once again cleans up the unbelievable shitpile Bush left behind and gets the country back on the right path. And once again, rather than saying, "That was nice. Let's keep it going," the voters decided to turn to yet another ill-tempered moron with a long history of failure. And he quite reliably destroyed all the progress we had made over the prior 8 years.

Now we're back at square one yet again (for a THIRD time in the last 30 years), and we have to convince a certain percentage of voters NOT to just "default" to voting for the Republican because right-wing hate radio and Faux News are all busy telling us that it's GREAT to be living in this fetid shitpile that once was a great country. In 2004, I came to the conclusion that Americans were probably just way too stupid to govern themselves. And while there are a lot of stupid people in this country, I don't think there are enough to vote us into the hell of 4 more years of this mess. The question is what will happen after President Biden cleans up the garbage dump Trump leaves behind, gets this country back on the right track, and then leaves office? Will they default back to voting for their own economic destruction a FOURTH time? I really think Americans might be just that stupid.

for only 2 years. Once they started rebuilding the country voters decided to apply breaks.
