this guy dosent live in real world. Try hunkering down with $94 in your checking account and no job..Rural schools don't have digital learning and most kids don't have laptops. If self isolation last till summer there will be chaos, riots and civil unrest.

a pretty expensive area in San Diego. I could never afford to live there, it's even more expensive than most areas of San Diego.

may have been published on a website based in Coronado, but in the text, he clearly says that he is from Bend, Oregon. I've been there, the town is surrounded by a vast amount of uninhabited land.

They do make some great beer, though.

Bend is a decent sized town, but it's the only one of its size in that area. They may well have decided to home school for a variety of reasons. I used to live in the Northwest, and the schools are dependent on votes to levy property taxes, when those votes fail, then home schooling becomes a viable option for people who can afford to have one spouse at home to do the job.

Nothing about this is good and none of this will end well. The entire world has been flipped on its' ear by this virus and if social distancing doesn't work then chaos is inevitable.

It's already beginning here and the infections have just begun.

My sister was robbed while filling up her car at the gas station in broad daylight with other cars/people there. (Only cash was taken)

The same week, she went home from work and her door was broken down and her house robbed.

This is only the beginning...

Our metro police are no longer responding to non-life threatening calls because they want to minimize our cop's virus exposure and save them for real bad stuff like robberies, shootings and serious wrecks.

I posted this issue in an op Tuesday and some others said their police now have a similar policy.

When petty thieves and vandals find out, they will have a field day......

Florida Virtual School - https://flvs.net/ - is free to all Florida students and is offered globally, though I don't know if there is a cost for that.

I know one young man who is very smart but ADD. he could not sit in a class room and learn but he had enough discipline to keep up with his online course work. At the end he had to take the GED to get his diploma but aced the test.

It's something to check out if you have students out of school and online access to try it out.

A whole lot of honest info in this article, that I will assume, a majority of Du'rs know how to process. but sometimes a well written long article through a link that wishes to prove a point is miss 1 key fact. The above article was well written to the point most of us would agree,, except it changed tone about halfway through to what WE need to do. that is when I lost interest, because the one thing that this fairly well written article does not mention,,,is a lack of government action on the USA part. oh it mentions China and Italy as proactive. only 1 little thing that is in parentheses, without being in BOLD about USA didn't do testing.....and then.while I rechecked the article to make sure MY post was true,, I saw who wrote it,, here is the copy and paste

I founded and am CEO of a successful software company that provides SaaS based data, analytics, and dashboards to recruiting departments at companies we all know.

given these facts,, I do not do this often on DU,,,but I call Bullshit...

the lack of effective action by our government makes his plea all that much more urgent.

He's calling on individuals to take care of themselves and others, regardless of what the inept assholes in the Trump administration do or don't do.
