What is America doing to lead the rest of the world through this crisis?

Is there any leadership at all by our fake president? Is there any desire to work with other nations, not in trying to pouch scientists, taking Covid 19 test materials from Italy and closing borders, but to be a leader who can bring the world together to defeat this virus and the subsequent economic collapse?

for the duration would be a BIG positive example.

But this is already also on the table in the EU, in particular here in locked-down Spain.

He has no idea of what he should be doing now. He goes on TV and campaigns. That's all he knows.

major challenges that the world faces and to rise to that challenge by collaborating, sharing ideas and resources and also showing by example? As a people, we are very privileged to live in a wealthy and relatively peaceful nation. We have a moral obligation to lead if that is what it takes to improve the prospects of the other 7 billion or so and the planet we live on.

since it assumes that the US should have a leadership position in what should be a collaborative international effort? Europeans, Canadians, Australians, etc also live in wealthy and peaceful nations.

the problems that are not being solved. Absence of leadership leads to inaction and inefficiency. Where is this collaborative effort and how well is it working?

3 if want to include the Cold War.. The idea is to minimize damage whenever and wherever. And it’s supposed to be collaborative. Trump is an aberration.

not so much? US troops helped hasten the end of WWI (which the US entered after it had been going on nearly three years); US didn't deploy troops against Germany until the Germans were already retreating in North Africa (after El Alamein) and on the Eastern Front (after Stalingrad).

Stalingrad wasn’t over until 1943 for starters. A complete takeover of Western Europe by Russia would have led to a less than enlightening time and another hot war. Iow, that would have maxed damage. Communist revolution would have also gone crazy in Africa and South America. Not to mention the continued empire of Japan in the other theater of war. You don’t seem to have thought this through.
